This course will equip you to:

Fully understand and successfully embed the Forest School Ethos and Principles into your own practices.
Discover the potential Forest School has for your practice, your career, and the positive impact it can have on children and adults holistic learning and development.
Understand how to run a successful Forest School from risk assessing, session planning, effective evaluation and observation including ongoing reflective practice.
Develop your skills and confidence to facilitate the teaching of practical skills to individuals such as making fires, using tools, making shelters, knot tying, and cooking on an open campfire.
Explore the variety of ways we can use natural resources creatively and practically.
Understood the true potential of the great outdoor and natural spaces.
To lead Forest School sessions that are Fun, Safe, Experiential, Knowledgeable and professional for all our attendees in the wild woods!

The training covers:

• 8 to 10 days of face-to-face training – 5 immersive days at Initial training week and 5 days Practical Skills Assessment Training six months after the start of the course.
• Portfolio development over 12 months; candidates will be given their Forest School Portfolio as well as the Unit Guidance by the Awarding Body and any relevant extra resources.

• Learners will receive their very own Forest School Starter Kit worth over £150

• £50 voucher to go toward Blue Sky Learning Outdoor/Forest School First Aid Course.

• Trainer 1:1 support; your trainer can visit you at your site for on site support and queries based on your site and sessions.

• Ongoing Tutor support via whatsapp, email and phone call.

• Optional zoom calls for those who wish to jump on as a cohort and discuss any portfolio related and general Forest School Chit Chat.

• Ongoing CPD days available at reduced Blue Sky Learning trainee rate.

Additional two-day Outdoor/Forest School First Aid course

This is a course requirement and can be arranged by us at an additional cost of approximately £140, your voucher is used towards this.
